Miko’s recent work, which is uniquely her own, evolves around abstract figures which suggest spiritual and mystical aspects. Many of her collages use organic materials, including paper and ink, as well as paint. These collages have evolved slowly, through intense hours of concentration: cutting papers with scissors, using various papers, paint, and ink on canvas, working one collage at a time. The result is at times compulsive, contemplative. Miko says, “The drive to create is extremely complex and the process of creation can be unclear until the work is finished." "...Miko's collages embodied elements of Easter and Western art practices, with Japanese motifs and materials (inks, origami paper, Japanese newspaper arranged in ways that recalled 1970s Pattern and Decoration works, such as Miriam Schapiro's femmages. Miko's collages also featured built-up shapes and marks, but they were made from cut pieces of newsprint and decorative papers..." Jennifer Ball, ARTnews Magazine
