June 14, 2008 - May 30, 2009 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Armonk, NY... The Studio: An Alternative Space for Contemporary Art is once again, installing a large-scale, outdoor kinetic sculpture in front of Town Hall, 15 Bedford Road, Armonk, NY. Drew Klotz's sculpture, “Eclipse” appears to be in constant multidirectional motion. His kinetic sculptures (propelled by air currents) range from a kaleidoscope of color to a more minimalistic formal approach. Mr. Klotz states, "I found that movement and simple geometric shapes create constant change in an environment that is also changing. My kinetic sculptures are both Zen and poetic with calming and mesmerizing visual results." The artist received a B.F.A. in Sculpture from Cooper Union School of Fine Arts. He went on to work in New York City making props for novelty trade shows, television commercials and children's programs, including the original PeeWee Herman Show. This very playful side may be seen as well in his audio-kinetic work. More work by the artist may be seen in The Studio Sculpture Garden. The Studio Sculpture Garden is located at 2 Maryland Avenue in Armonk, New York. For appointments or directions please call Katie Stratis at (914) 273-1452 or visit the web site at www.thestudiony-alternative.org. *****
