FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Harry H. Gordon exhibits scultpure at the North
Castle Town Hall Sculpture Site
On exhibit is a monumental
painted white oak: Connected
Armonk,
NY... The Studio: An Alternative Space for Contemporary Art is
pleased to announce a new link to the community! Having received approval
from the Town Board, The Studio has instituted a rotating program of sculpture
at the Town Hall in Armonk. Harry H. Gordon is the second artist to be
featured.
Harry states, " In my studio
I assemble wood or stone and carve it, making decisions in response to
what I observe as the piece evolves. I try not to notice the surroundings
in the studio, but concentrate my attention on the developing forms of
the sculpture. I want the result to be an object with a solid presence
appearing to exist naturally in the landscape. Often, I think of my sculpturs
as portraits of a spirit, a tree, an animal or a person. The sculpture
does not become whole until it is placed in a setting and viewed by people."
More
sculpture by Harry H. Gordon may be seen at The Studio in the Sculpture
Garden. The Sculpture Garden is open year round to the public. No appointment
is required.
The
Studio gallery is open Saturday and Sunday 1 to 5pm during exhibitions
and by appointment Tuesday through Friday. For further information, please
contact Katie Stratis at (914) 273-1452 or visit The Studio's website
